It's been a very long time since I've been on my blog. with the pandemic having hit this world, more and more people have taken to the internet to learning things. I have been thinking that it's high time I resurrect my blog & start interacting with the quilting world that I love and maybe share some of my knowledge with you of what I'm doing, how I'm accomplishing it or how I did it (if it was past tense), etc.

So, where to start? Well, first of all, I'm working on two projects. 1) Afternoon Delight. This quilt is a Sue Garman pattern that she designed.  Totally scrappy, it's a Block of the Month being done by the Quilt Show and headed up by Barbara Black. If you've never taken a class from her, please do, you'll learn a lot, she's an awesome teacher! 2) Jesse's Gem. This is an English Paper Pieced project. One that I can take with me to the Dr.'s office waiting room, etc.

Afternoon Delight has 64 double 9-patch blocks, 9 Shoo Fly blocks and 40 applique blocks. Well, that's what the pattern calls for anyway. If anyone knows me, they know that I'm not one to follow ALL the directions! I'm painting my applique blocks. That's right, I said painting my block. In the coming days I'll show you another of my quilts that I took liberty on the pattern that turned out different from the original.

I'm still longarming. I love custom work, but simple works for every day quilts too. As I go along I'll catch you up on some of the quilts that you've missed since I've not been posting.

Stay tuned! I'll be back shortly!

Last post Sept. 2017? Boy, am I lousy in keeping people informed or what!

It took a lot of Physical Therapy, attention from a home health nurse, and overseeing from a bunch of Doctors, but I'm back to a somewhat normal self. I'll never be 100% of what I was, but I'm almost 70 years old too, so what do I expect? Right? I'm back to quilting, am President of Texas Association of Quilt Guilds & active in the American Legion Auxiliary. What more can I do?

Through the process of getting well, I lost all my longarm business. My best customer actually passed away just a few months after I got out of the hospital, but the rest just found other longarmers or bought their own machines. Now I'm starting over again. So, look for a sale coming soon!

Well! I've been gone a very long time, but it's time to get back to blogging.

Let's start with catching up!

I see the last post was April of 2016. So...I've got to bring you up to speed since then!

I sold Queenie. A nice young lady from Katy, TX came up & bought her.

And Hubby, Floyd, came off the road to run local & is home every night & off weekends. It's really changed my schedule!  Plus, we've joined the local American Legion Post.  So we've gotten involved with the activities there also.  More about that as we go along.

As for me, personally, I got sick in October. I mean REALLY sick! As in DEAD! Yep, that's what I said, D.E.A.D.! 3 times! It's amazing what an ingrown pubic hair can do! I got one that festered & got infected & somehow got a couple different strains of e coli & sepsis set in. All in all, 42 days in 4 different hospitals, of which 8 days were in a medically induced coma. I barely made it home for Thanksgiving.

I'm going to try my best to get ya'll caught up, so stay tune!

Have you ever thought about quilting your own quilts on a longarm? But are scared off by the price of them? Well, here's a solution for you, buy this one!
She's a Queen Quilter 18, made by Tin Lizzie. 18" throat, stitch regulated, 10' frame. All for the low price of $3,500!  She's a good little machine, great for doing pantographs or freehand work. She's a real workhorse!  Why am I selling here?  Here's why:
Meet Molly, the Millennium! She just arrived & is now set up in Queenie's place. No room for 2 longarms!
If you're interested, or know someone who might be, let me know.  Send me an email at Cindy60545@yahoo.com

Well, it's quilt show season again, so have been busy getting some quilts ready.  54-40 or fight & Diamond Log Cabin are going to shows, plus Wild & Goosey. Here's an addition to the group, Pineapple.
See the blue in the background? That's Snowfall. Still a work in progress, but will be done in time for the Plano show.

Here's one of Dianna's for show too, Bowties.

Well hello there! I know, I haven't kept up, but I have been busy in the quilting world.

I've been attacking my scrap bins, Bonnie Hunter style!  Her 2015 Winter mystery, "Allietare", was on the list.
And, while I was in between clues for this, I worked on Wild & Goosey.
Used up a lot of scraps, but still have some left!
